CelebCrcle: The next question is from Leo334. Question: I think you are beautiful. What other movies will you be doing? DinaMeyer: I just finished filming "Dragonheart" with Dennis Quaid in Slovakia. That movie will be released by Universal in the summer of '96. Working on getting my next part currently. Thank you for the compliment. CelebCrcle: The next question is from MCK1138. Question: Which medium do you prefer, film or television? DinaMeyer: Film, by far. It's a lot more exciting. CelebCrcle: The next question [referring to Mr. Reeves] is from LRobe1020. Question: Is he a regular Joe as they mentioned in People Magazine? DinaMeyer: He's very down to earth and very private. I don't know if I'd call him a 'regular Joe' but he's pretty normal. We've stayed friends since the film wrapped. CelebCrcle: The next question is from MCK1138. Question: Besides "Johnny Mnemonic", what's your favorite Keanu Reaves' movie? DinaMeyer: I'd have to say "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." I loved his character. I also liked him in "My Own Private Idaho"" CelebCrcle: The next question is from HANSIE2. Question: What is your role in this movie? DinaMeyer: My characters' name is Kara and I play a rebellious, young peasant girl, who during the movie becomes Dennis Quaid's love interest. Question: How did you "get your break" into show business? DinaMeyer: I was living in NY and I was put on tape and it was for an Aaron Spelling pilot. Aaron Spelling happened to see the tape and he flew me out to LA. Then 90210 happened almost 2 years ago. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Clayster 1. Question: What's your acting training background, if any? DinaMeyer: Three years of Meisner technique. I studied privately with a guy named Ron Stetson who teaches at the neighborhood playhouse in NY. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Dazed014. Question: Where do you live?? DinaMeyer: In Los Angeles. I moved to LA almost 2 years ago, two days before I started working on 90210. CelebCrcle: The next question is from HANSIE2. Question: How is it to be a an actor? What does it take to become one? DinaMeyer: It takes confidence, courage, talent, personality, luck, a lot of different things to make it in Hollywood. For me, being an actor is everything I've always wanted to be, so I think it's great. DinaMeyer: If you're making a living by doing something you really love to do, it's wonderful. But if acting isn't something you enjoy doing, you're not going to enjoy being an actor. DinaMeyer: As far as being recognized on the street and dealing with people coming up to me all the time and asking for autographs and such, well that doesn't really happen all that much! And when it does happen, it's quite flattering. CelebCrcle: The next question is from SKYLER17. Question: I've heard Keanu Reeves quoted as saying that working on Johnny Mnemonic was physically exhausting. Was it for you, too? DinaMeyer: Absolutely. I did 98% of all my stunts, running, falling, tripping, slipping, waking up with a different bruise every morning, having to get a massage every week, etc. But it was well worth it and I'd do it all over again. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Hoops3847. Question: When did you first start acting? DinaMeyer: When I was about 2 years old. But professionally, not until I graduated college in 1990. Question: Dina, You were great in Johnny Mnemonic. Where can I send Fan E-mail? DinaMeyer: Tristar or Columbia pictures CelebCrcle: The next question is from AXYA1T. Question: Dina, how old are you? DinaMeyer: 26. CelebCrcle: The next question is from KEANU II. Question: Dina, what kind of specialized training did you need for the role of Jane? DinaMeyer: I got the part in one week so there wasn't much time for any special physical training before I started filming. But I work out regularly and luckily I was in good enough shape to do it. CelebCrcle: The next question is from MANSONMS. Question: About 90210, was Shannon Daugherty as bad as the tabloids lead us to believe? DinaMeyer: Not to me. Don't believe everything you read. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Hoops3847. Question: What are your hobbies DinaMeyer: Rollerblading, hiking, biking, most outdoor activities. I just recently became a certified scuba diver and I've been spending a great deal of time under water. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Gunny69. Question: What's the real scoop as to why the movie was shelved until after the success of "Speed?" (I very much enjoyed the movie and thought your part was acted very well!) DinaMeyer: We didn't start filming until after Keanu filmed "Speed." Keanu was doing looping while we were filming Johnny Mnemonic. Johnny Mnemonic wasn't ready until May. CelebCrcle: The next question is from KillMeFas. Question: Are you afraid starring in a techno movie, being type cast and all? DinaMeyer: No. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Cecilieee. Question: How did you become interested in Johnny Mnemonic? DinaMeyer: I read the script. I liked the script. I loved the character, and I went in on it. That's usually what happens with all scripts I read. You can read a lot of scripts that aren't good at all, or the character isn't good, and those are the one you pass on. CelebCrcle: The next question is from WZUPWIDAT. Question: What other actors or actresses would you like to work with? DinaMeyer: Deniro, Pachino, Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, Michelle Pfeifer, and Tom Hanks. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Clayster 1. Question: What agency are you with? Is there any interesting story you have about getting that agent? DinaMeyer: I'm with UTA (United Talent Agency). My first agent in NY was Frontier Booking International (small agency). My primary agent was a woman named Jennifer. After one year she moved to Los Angeles and I stayed in NY. During the time that she lived in LA and I lived in NY we remained friends, and after I finished my stint on 90210 she asked me to come to her agency (UTA), and I did and here I am. CelebCrcle: The next question is from ReubenFla. Question: This may sound like an odd question, but were the prop guns that were used (especially the one that "Johnny" took apart) chopped up paintball guns? DinaMeyer: I don't really recall, but I highly doubt it. But you never know. I wasn't working in the prop dept. I only dealt with my spikes! CelebCrcle: The next question is from Leo336. Question: You are beautiful, have you ever done any modeling work? DinaMeyer: Thank you. Yes, I modeled from the time I was nine until I was sixteen. Question: Is your brother really Evan Meyer who's in 7th grade at West Hollow? I go to school with him, and he says he's your brother. DinaMeyer: Yes he is. I just called him to get online, but he doesn't know the password. Believe almost everything he tells you in regards to me. It's most likely true. I went to West Hollow too, for one year. I've even visited him at school. His friends know me. Yes, he's my little brother. CelebCrcle: The next question is from A091375. Question: Who was a better kisser, Jason or Keanu? DinaMeyer: .Well they were two different kisses. Keanu's kiss was a very loving, sweet kiss. There was no saliva exchanged. Jason's kisses were hotter because of the roles that we were playing. Johnny and Jane's characters were much different than Brandon and Lucinda's. Their relationships were different. DinaMeyer: I didn't make out with Keanu. So, depending on what kind of kissing you like to do, you'd have to be the judge. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Ghost II. Question: What was the film's budget? DinaMeyer: 26 million before marketing. CelebCrcle: The next question is from TRAKE1B. Question: Are the people on 90210 really as dense and as shallow as they seem or are they really interesting? DinaMeyer: I never really got too close to anyone on that show, so it's hard to answer that question. But, like I said, I never got to know any of them on the show. CelebCrcle: The next question is from KERMIE G. Question: Keanu looks really big on screen. How tall is he and about what does he weigh? DinaMeyer: Keanu is about 6'1''. During the filming of Johnny Mnemonic he lost a lot of weight. I saw him 2 weeks ago in Minneapolis and he put on the weight that he took off. My guess is he is probably somewhere around 175 pounds. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Ghost II. Question: How long did it take to do the movie? DinaMeyer: 12 weeks. CelebCrcle: The next question is from HANSIE2. Question: What is you greatest memory in 90210? DinaMeyer: I did a scene in the film editing room with Jason when that reporter guy was trying to write a bad article on Brandon and we were trying to hide our relationship from everybody. That morning, during rehearsal, I remember thinking to myself, "Wow, look where I am, look what I'm doing and with who!" My friends at home in NY are sitting in their offices hating their jobs. I felt really lucky. CelebCrcle: The next question is from NRG UP 94. Question: I'm a friend of your cousin Geordan's. Do you miss New York at all? DinaMeyer: I missed NY a lot when I first moved out to LA. But recently I've been very busy and I haven't had much time to think about it or anything, for that matter. Tell Geordan I said "Hi"! CelebCrcle: The next question is from Shanaberg. Question: Do you like kids? Do you have any? Do you want any? DinaMeyer: I love kids. I don't have any. But I look forward to being a mom sometime in the future. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Cecilieee. Question: Do you plan to do more movies or more television work? DinaMeyer: More movies, hopefully. I'd like to do more movies. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Scottslat. Question: How uncomfortable was that steel mesh shirt? DinaMeyer: It was uncomfortable. It was cold. It was made out of aluminum and every night when I took it off my skin was black. I guess I had some weird allergic reaction. By the end of the movie they had lined it with velvet. It was warmer and softer and I stopped turning black. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Lipheform. Question: What's your favorite animal? DinaMeyer: Dogs. I like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Pugs, and Sharpeis. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Leo336. Question: Have you ever gotten into any accidents while filming? DinaMeyer: I hurt myself virtually everyday. But nothing too serious. CelebCrcle: The next question is from EAGLE 987. Question: Do you listen to Howard Stern and what do you think of him? DinaMeyer: I used to listen to him when I lived in NY. Now I tend to listen to music in the morning. Sometimes I watch his show on the E Channel. I think he's very funny. CelebCrcle: The next question is from L2220. Question: Are you comfortable with all of the violence present in toady's movies? DinaMeyer: It doesn't really bother me. It's a movie. So long as it stays in the movies I don' think there's any problem with it. Adults can handle it. Children under 17 shouldn't be admitted into R rated movies without an adult. Violence doesn't really bother me. I haven't really given it that much thought. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Bob Mar56. Question: How was your acting career affected by the workers guild strike of '89? Please go into detail. DinaMeyer: Well, it didn't affect me at all because in 89 I was studying marketing in college. I didn't start acting until 90. Sorry I can't go into detail. I didn't know there was a strike in 89. CelebCrcle: The next question is from SKYLER17. Question: You are quoted as saying that Mr. Reeves thinks of himself as a "nerd." Is that true? Also, I'm glad to hear that you've remained friends. I think that you and he are my favorite actor and actress. Keep up the good work! DinaMeyer: Thanks! When I was working with him in Toronto, he did call himself a nerd. He's very modest. CelebCrcle: Just time for a few more questions, folks! CelebCrcle: The next question is from Leo336. Question: What do you believe contributes to good acting? DinaMeyer: Always being in the moment and being honest and not being afraid to let go, be vulnerable. Always make the person you're acting with the most important. Listening and answering as opposed to doing your basic line reads. The harder you listen to somebody, the truer your response is going to be. CelebCrcle: The next question is from BBenoit. Question: Do you think the screenplay of Johnny Mnemonic was a good adaptation of the short story? DinaMeyer: Yes, considering Gibson wrote it. CelebCrcle: The next question is from Cecilieee. Question: What was it like working with Robert Longo? DinaMeyer: Robert is a great guy! I just spoke to him this afternoon. He was wonderful to work with! CelebCrcle: The next question is from K8SL8. Question: Did you get to meet William Gibson, and if so, what did you think of him? DinaMeyer: Yes I did. He's very smart and very nice. CelebCrcle: Well, we're just about out of time. Any closing comments for us tonight? DinaMeyer: Thank you for all of your support! This has been a lot of fun! Come see my movie! CelebCrcle: Thanks for joining us. Have a good weekend!
